Our vision and purpose

Our school aims

Every day we aim to:

  • provide an environment that is friendly, welcoming, caring and safe and ensures that all our children have rich and stimulating experience(s);
  • develop self-esteem and confidence of everyone and an enthusiastic and enquiring attitude towards learning;
  • show respect and consideration for each other and the environment, within a well-organised school;
    develop a partnership with parents which encourages active involvement and establish good relationships with the local community;
  • develop creative and enquiring minds and for children to become increasingly independent in their own learning;
  • develop respect for spiritual and moral values and an understanding of other religions, races and ways of life.

Knavesmire Character

Knavesmire Character are the values that we all strive to develop. Along with our school aims, these are the values that shape our curriculum and what we try to achieve daily. The words that describe Knavesmire Character are not an exhaustive list, and were generated by our pupils and staff – the key stakeholders in our community.

KNAVESMIRE CHARACTER IS:

  • Being CREATIVE, ARTY, and having FUN.
  • Taking RISKS in learning, being ENTHUSIASTIC and PASSIONATE.
  • Being HARD-WORKING and RESILIENT, but also being EXUBERANT and SPIRITED.
  • Having ASPIRATION and being DETERMINED while having HIGH EXPECTATIONS.
  • Celebrating being UNIQUE and INDIVIDUAL, and being SPORTY and leading a HEALTHY life-style.
  • Embracing British Values of: DEMOCRACY, the RULE OF LAW, MUTUAL RESPECT, and INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY.

Our Knavesmire Character shapes our spiritual, moral, social cultural growth.

50 Things

To help our pupils in their personal development, we’ve put together a list of 50 things they will do before they leave Knavesmire.

Activities range from going on a residential to creating a work of art, and doing something to benefit the wider community to learning a new language.

It’s a fabulous list of 50 things! Take a look here.
